One of the motivations for starting Glenstar Doggie Day Care is to help dog owners reduce the guilt they feel at leaving their beloved dog at home alone all day. Having your dog in Day Care means that you know your companion is safe and happy, it means that you do not have to worry about boredom or separation anxiety issues or your dog straying.
Doggie Day Care is extremely popular in the USA and is gradually gathering popularity in New Zealand as people juggle a busy life style with responsible dog ownership.
A day at doggie day care is structured for supervised play, socialisation with other like minded K9 friends, a quiet relaxing nap time, along with good manners training, lots of praise and some treats. All the time they will be supervised to ensure that their play is focused and lively.
Glenstar Kennels is also able to offer post operative surgery day care for dogs who need monitoring and restricted supervised exercise.
Whether you are working or out for the day Doggie Day Care can provide care, attention and a generally great tail-wagging time in your absence. Should you have to be away overnight or longer your dog will not stress about being away from home as they can stay with us in surroundings and with people they are familiar with.
We at Glenstar have organised a daily schedule that provides the perfect mix of exercise, play, and rest, as well as continued reinforcement in essential good manners. Your dog can socialise, play with like-minded friends, learn new skills, be bathed and pampered (grooming is by appointment with Ms Deana Jose who works in conjunction with Glenstar Kennels), then return home feeling happy and exhausted after a stimulating day.
While you’re at work or away, you can relax knowing your dog is experiencing the ultimate in attentive personal service and the pleasures of an incomparable environment.
PUPPY CLASSES
The first six months of a dog's life can determine the dog he or she will become. At Glenstar Puppy Academy we have developed specialist puppy training to help you and your puppy through the challenging 8-week to 6-month period.
At the Puppy Academy we help puppies (and their owners) learn the essentials, such as toilet training, basic obedience and good manners.
The Academy is an ideal opportunity to socialise your puppy in a healthy, structured and monitored environment. It is also excellent preparation for the Daycare or boarding facility.
They say that you cant teach an old dog new tricks, but we do expect all dogs, of all ages, to display good manners.
Transport
We are also able to provide a taxi service for you and your pet to wherever they need to go. Whether it be the Airport, the vet or the grooming parlour we will be able to help. We have even taken pets to their vet and been with them during their consultation if you are unable to be there. The vets are always happy to consult with the owner by phone. Just phone us to discuss your individual requirements.
Charges:
Day Care is $15.00 per standard day Later pickup can be arranged.
Convalescent Care starts at $25.00 per day.
